Operation Protective Edge
Within the Geneva Conventions, it clearly states that civilians must not come under attack in war. Yet in early July 2014, Israel attacked Gaza by air & with ground troops, as a military response to rockets fired at Israel from the area. By the time a ceasefire was declared 48 days later, more than 1,500 Gazan civilians had died. Five Israeli civilians also died from Hamas attacks into Israel. Thousands of homes were totally destroyed or significantly damaged, along with public buildings, hospitals and schools. The landscape was one of utter destruction.
