Domitz

Domitz is a Syrian refugee camp in northern Iraq. While these photographs document the camp in November 2014, no matter which war zone or natural disaster I have visited over the last 20 years, it seems that people are instintctively able to create a sense of normality. For me, resilience is one of the greatest attributes of people, families and communities for whom dealing with war and suffering has become the back drop to ordinary life, and this was as apparent as ever, here in Domitz.
